In the case of men, it is easier to burn fat and build muscle as compared to women, though both will benefit equally from following the proper methods. The most important method is of course to follow a correct and healthy diet.
When it comes to building muscle and burning fat, it is imperative to eat the proper foods and drink the correct beverages. In fact, an estimated eighty percent of results depend on what you eat and drink though when you are attempting to burn up fat and also build muscle at the same time, this can be quite tricky.
This is because you will crave plenty of calories with which to provide your muscles with proper nutrients. However, it is all too easy to consume too many calories and this can undo your best efforts. You must follow a proper ration which consists of 40 percent protein and the same percentage of carbohydrates and about twenty percent fats.
Next, you must also learn that in order to achieve desired results you will need to step out of your comfort zone. This means that you must burn fat and also build muscle by getting involved in exercise and pushing your muscles to the extreme. At the same time, it does not mean that you must use weights that are so heavy that you can risk injuring your muscles and body.
The right weight is one in which you are able to perform movements in more controlled manner. Overloading of muscles means you must push them with weights that only allow you to complete between ten and twelve reps in the proper form. And to put on mass you will need to work with weights that only enable you to perform between five and eight reps in the proper manner which is slow repetition of the movement.
In the interest of burning fat, you will also want to add in some aerobic exercise – walking, running, swimming, playing tennis. Any of these will do the trick, but the real benefit will come from building muscle because the more muscle you have, the easier it is to burn fat!
Finally, the importance of proper rest cannot be underscored enough. After consuming the right foods and training in the best manner possible, it is time to learn how to give your body proper rest. Though it is all about common sense you will be surprised how many people do not follow this step and in the process cannot achieve their goals and instead end up over training themselves.
Not giving your body enough rest can harm rather than help the body in two ways. It can lead to making the muscles shrink because of lack of proper healing and it can also lead to injuries from prolonged soreness. So, be sure to also give your mind and body sufficient rest after training hard and eating healthily.
